I’m an educator, yoga teacher, meditation facilitator and tennis coach with a talent for laughing unexpectedly and drinking really hot tea.
My journey into the wonderful world of well-being or what I like to call ‘love-based living and learning’ started at an early age when I played competitive tennis across Australia competitively. Long story short, I wanted to up my game and my mum’s boyfriend at the time (now the wonderful Daddy D) had a book on yoga. I began to read it and copy all the asanas and pranayamas. It really did help me to level up as a tennis player. But, as my love for competing diminished my love for yoga and meditation amplified.
I ended up leaving Australia to learn more about yoga and meditation. First stop was India (and many more stops followed). I spent time in different ashrams learning all that I could and worked in a resort where I led workshops, meditations, and yoga classes.
I could never explain why I wanted to go to India so badly but once I arrived, I knew. For THE FOOD! Seriously, it is phenomenal. Whenever I go back to India people tend to think I am going to an ashram but really if I’m being honest, it’s for the food. Oh, and definitely for the beautiful, kind people. Everywhere I go I feel like I am surrounded by a sea of smiles but then again how could you not be smiling when food tastes that good.
Anyway, back to my monologue.
I travelled to many, many other countries, too many to name. I went on pilgrimages where I discovered my love for hiking, my gratitude for mother nature and a willpower that I didn’t reside within me. I continued to expand my skills by partaking in multiple yoga, meditation, and coaching teacher trainings. Then, cemented these skills through work as a yoga teacher, meditation leader and tennis coach.
When I returned to Australia something called me back to the courts and I began to coach tennis. I also decided to start a degree in education to further refine my skills and an educator and coach. I have worked both in schools and the greater community where I have helped to implement well-being programs and supported athletes eager to develop mentally and physically.
